Info: Before your appointment

There are a few things you can do before your treatment

-Allow your hair to grow for 2-3 days prior to your appointment

  • -ensure that you stay hydrated and moisturize your skin well
  • -exfoliate a day or two prior
  • -avoid caffine day of as it can make you more sensitive

Info: After your appointment/aftercare Instructions

 

Redness, heat and swelling is perfectly normal to see post treament , but providing aftercare is extremely important. Your skin will take up to 48 hours to heal and return to normal. It is recommened to keep up with it for the full 48 hours to ensure your skin has healed. Listed below are some instructions/recommendations

-Aloe, Witchazel and antibiotic cream is provided at the end of your appointment, as well as an ice pac (these are highly recommended to have on hand at home and can be purchased at most drugstores)

-CeraVe and Cetaphil are good brands to look into for cleansers and moisturizers. if your're prone to breakouts it may be helpful to cleanse the treated area with antibacterial soap and apply antibiotic cream after

-avoid the sun for a few days after as your skin is more prone to damage while it's heaing. if you must be outside, wear a hat and apply sunscreen often

-avoid getting sweating as the bacteria can cause breakouts and irritation. If you do, follow the instructions above for breakouts.

-touching/picking at the area will only irritate it more, so do your best to leave the area alone

-Facemasks, makeup etc should be avoided for the 48 hours after

-If you are currently shaving, try to avoid it for at least 24 hours after, and make sure to use a product for sensitive skin
